Hi Friends,
I apologize for not posting a Fringe update after it was all said and done. Moving the day after Fringe was over was a bit hectic. But I made it to Nola and I love my new home!
Fringe was amazing. I'm still reeling in the beauty of everything it was for all of us. I'm not sure I can even put my thoughts about it all into words quite yet. All I can say is that I'm truly and utterly grateful that I was able to have the experience, and I'm even more grateful that I got to experience it all with amazing friends and colleagues. I learned so much from being there and I genuinely hope to go back someday. Minneapolis is simply beautiful and there is so much going on there artistically.
It's sad to think that the Meat My Package experience may be over, but I also think it's time to move on. Now that I'm in New Orleans, my mind is running with new possibilities. This city is so inspiring. Just sitting here on the street corner right now, looking at the surrounding buildings and seeing people go by, my heart fills with joy in knowing there is so much to explore and there's so much life yet to live. Things are definitely slow right now, but that's all part of moving to a new place, I suppose. i'll keep you all updated on new performance happenings of my own, but for now I'll just promote other things going on in New Orleans.
My good friend Will Bowling is involved in a theatre company called Goat in the Road Productions and they are doing a show in collaboration with Cripple Creek Theatre Company called "The Future is a Fancyland Place." When I was down here in the Spring for a visit, I was lucky enough to sit in on a reading of an early draft of the script and it sounded great! I can't wait to see what the end result is! You can visit the event page on facebook here.
Also, if you happen to be in Nola in November, the New Orleans Fringe Festival will be going on at that time. It's a smaller festival than the Minnesota Fringe, but from what I understand, people really are invested in making it to nearly every show involved because of the smaller size. That's pretty damn cool! I plan on volunteering with the Fringe so I will hopefully make it to all the shows as well! Yeah!
Well, I guess that's all for now. Thanks for reading, and if you're from Carbondale, I miss you and love you lots!!!!
Anna
